TYE 2023 SUMMER BOOTCAMP INSTRUCTOR
Are you a passionate educator interested in helping middle school students learn how to start a business and develop more self-confidence?
We are looking for a qualified instructor to deliver two weeks of our TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Summer Boot Camp for middle school students in the Greater Boston area.
TiE Young Entrepreneurs Boston (TYE) is dedicated to fostering the next generation of leaders by teaching students’ entrepreneurship and leadership skills while preparing them for the future demands of the innovation economy. Our Summer Boot Camp provides an opportunity for middle school students to begin this process; by participating in our five-day intensive camp, they develop an entrepreneurial mindset and learn the building blocks of business formation.
For the past 17 years, TYE has delivered a 7-month program for high school students, but starting last year, TYE launched our intensive 5-day Summer Boot Camp for middle school students. We are seeking an instructor to teach this Boot Camp for 2 sessions, from July 31st - August 4th and from August 7th to August 11th.

Position Overview:
The TYE Summer Boot Camp Instructor will deliver our pre-designed TYE curriculum; no curriculum development or lesson planning is required. The TYE Instructor will take the lead with the Program Director to ensure the smooth delivery of high-quality curricula, engagement of participants and continued improvement of these programs.
Position Responsibilities:
Programming

Teach the TYE curriculum to the TYE 2023 Summer Boot Camp
○ Devote sufficient time to prepare each session
○ Devote a minimum of three hours of curriculum teaching time each session and oversee any special guest lecturers between the hours of 10 AM-12 PM on session days.

Help manage team conflicts

Provide feedback on ideas and execution

Track team progress and facilitate impact assessment at the end of the
program.

Oversee any and all curriculum related details of TYE Summer Boot
Camp, including coaching guest speakers to ensure they are building on
the curriculum, and coordinate with the TYE Program Director as
required to ensure timely and efficient execution of the overall program.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree;
-
1-3 years of Middle School or High School Teaching Experience

Knowledge and expertise in lean methodology, marketing, etc (or direct experience as an entrepreneur) is preferred, but not required

An understanding of the entrepreneurial life cycle and enthusiasm for TiE Boston Young Entrepreneurs’ mission

Excellent public speaking and organizational skills

Strong relationship management skills.
Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience

This is a part-time, contract position.
