TYE Boston's Initiatives

TYE Entrepreneurship Academy

The TYE Entrepreneurship Academy is a global program dedicated to fostering future generations of industry leaders by teaching high school students the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur. During the program, student teams utilize modern skills and tools to build a concept using customer feedback, iteration, and lightweight business models. 

Each TYE Entrepreneurship Academy student will have the opportunity to:

  • Build a real startup with a team

  • Participate in a rigorous business curriculum proven over 15+ years

  • Develop confidence and leadership skills

  • Learn directly from startup founders and industry experts 

  • Collaborate with other students passionate about STEM

  • Connect with a dedicated mentor who will coach their team

  • Participate in professional development workshops around networking, professional correspondence, interviewing skills, LinkedIn, etc. 

  • Compete for seed funding, a chance to present your pitch to real-life entrepreneurs at Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), and an opportunity to represent Boston at the TYE Global Competition!

Who should apply?

Any 9th -12th-grade student interested in entrepreneurship, STEM, or business may apply to participate!

Program Details

Students meet on alternating Saturdays from 10 AM-3 PM from September through May in Kendall Square, Cambridge, MA.

Program Fee: $1950 (includes lunch provided each session)

Need-based scholarships are available for any family that qualifies for the free or reduced lunch programFees once paid are non-refundable.

 

TYE Summer Entrepreneurship Boot Camp

The TYE Summer Boot Camp is dedicated to fostering future generations of industry leaders by teaching rising 7th-9th grade students the rewards and challenges of becoming an entrepreneur.

 

During this week-long summer intensive, students will have the opportunity to:

  • Collaborate with their peers to build a solution to a pressing problem

  • Participate in a rigorous business curriculum proven for over 15+ years

  • Develop confidence and collaboration skills

  • Learn directly from startup founders and industry experts

Who should apply?

Any rising 7th-9th grader interested in entrepreneurship, STEM, or business

Boot Camp Details: Monday through Friday, August 12 - 16


Daily sessions will run from 10AM - 3 PM and will be co-hosted by Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) @ 1 Broadway in Kendall Square.

Boot Camp Fee: $750 (includes lunch provided at all sessions)

Need-based scholarships are available for any family that qualifies for the free or reduced lunch program. Fees once paid are non-refundable.

Mentors

Mentors

Participants are encouraged to reach out to all workshop leaders and guest speakers to support their individual development and the growth of their startup. Along with these individuals, each startup is paired with a mentor who works with the team to get ready for the final competition.

Our mentors are incredible people who not only understand all the components of building a startup, they also care about creating a supportive learning environment for young people!

Boston Competition

At the end of each program cycle, the teams pitch their startups in front of a panel of investors. They not only have the chance to demo their product and services but they also have a but they also have the chance to win seed funding!

The 1st Place team from Boston is invited to compete against their peers from Australia, India, Canada and other US cities at the TYE Global Competition held each summer!

The TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) Program is an initiative that seeks to inspire, challenge and empower students to become the next generation of entrepreneurs and business leaders. Teenage youth (grades 9-12) are taught business basics and the essentials of entrepreneurship. Through the TYE program, students develop self-confidence, presentation skills, leadership, and creativity. A number of awards are given to competing teams and the startups from TYE Boston have won the following:
